Diary of a Mad SAHM

Don't ask me - I just vent here.

OBSESSED.

Now that I'm recovering from last weekend's illness, I woke up this morning with pink eye. Yes. Pink eye. Un-freaking-believeable. My left eye is red and angry looking, and it hurts like hell.

I don't even want to ask, "what next?" I don't even want to know.
I've been keeping up with my self-imposed goal of getting to the gym three times a week. I've even dropped a couple of pounds already. Cool - two pounds down, 98 to go. Whoo-hoo. I'm pretty pleased with how my body is adjusting, meaning I haven't had a heart attack yet - I even managed 30 minutes on the elliptical machine, something I never used to be able to do. This week, I screwed up my courage and went to a class. I decided to sit in on a Pilates class - MISTAKE. I was curious about Pilates, but holy-moly! I tried to hang in there, but left after about a half hour. One position had me on my back, and trying to roll my legs over my head. In the middle of this move (that I couldn't do, and kept trying to roll myself unsuccessfully), I thought to myself, "Weebles wobble, but they don't fall down..." and began giggling.

The Pilates class messed. me. up. My abs haven't been this sore since my c-section in 2004. Every time I laid in bed, I had to hold onto things to pull myself up, or risk struggling like a bug on its back. I think I'll hold off on more Pilates classes for now. I'll try Yoga next.
The new obsession in our house is Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. All things Mickey for that matter. Miss Princess in particular. DH bought her a big stuffed Minnie Mouse doll, and its been her constant companion. It sleeps with her, sits at the table with her while she eats, sits in the bathroom when she's in the bath. If she can't have Minnie, she goes into rodent-related withdrawl. Tears and hysteria ensue. Each day she leaves for school, and she's sad about leaving Minnie (she's tried to take her on the bus a couple of times and I've managed to distract her). Every day she comes running into the house, throws her Dora backpack on the floor and makes a bee-line for Minnie. She picks up the doll, hugs it and says, "Minnie, I missed you!". Fricken precious.
Hope you have a great weekend!

Glad that your exercise efforts are going well. I hope that the Pinkeye gets better soon.
