My worst nightmare come true!
Let's start out by saying - if you celebrated Christmas, I hope it was great!
I had a great holiday - Christmas Eve with family was wonderful as always...Christmas Day with the in-laws...well....not as great, but tolerable.
The girls had a great Christmas; they laid out Christmas cookies for Santa, and on Christmas morning, they came downstairs, and were still unclear as to where all the presents came from. But it was progress nonetheless - they seemed to understand that "Santa" was coming, they really liked watching "Frosty the Snowman" - I think I watched it four times a day leading up to Christmas.
And then my worst nightmare happened.
I got sick. And the girls got sick. And its Christmas vacation. The three of us have been cooped up in the house all week. The girls had all their new toys to play with, but most of the new toys required my intervention. So as sick as I was, I couldn't just veg on the couch. Every minute was "mommy, help me!", "Mommy, open this!"...Its been tough, but I'm just soldiering through it. Counting the days to Wednesday when the girls go back to school.
I took the girls for their annual hearing tests this week, they did well. I was going to take them for flu shots, but we wound up going to the doctor for sick visits. We waited over an hour for the doctor -- in the car -- no way was I bringing them into the germ-infested waiting room. The girls are on the nebulizer again...and the steroids get them so hopped up and crazy that they're bouncing off the walls. The good news is there's no evidence of infection, so no fevers and no antibiotics. As such, I got them out today to see "Alvin and the Chipmunks".
New Year's Eve is going to be just the four of us - no company, no parties...I'm so looking forward to that!
I leave you with this hysterical clip I saw on a re-run of "Jimmy Kimmel Live" - hope you have a great New Year!

If everyone got sick for Christmas, then everyone should be OK for New Years right? Right?

I am still not sure what we are doing for New Year's...usually at least something a little romantic. :-)

My hands don't play anything. At least the gentleman didn't play the song with his armpits.

This mama was sick for Christmas too. I like you opened all the difficult toys, the trains wrapped in difficult hard plastic, and threw them all in one gift bag for easy opening for the toddler. He didn't even care that there weren't as many packages to open for him, he just wanted to play trains.
Hope everyone is well in the New Year.
