Back to "Normal"
Both girls went back to school this week. I won't lie - after the girls got on the bus, I went back to bed and slept 'till nearly 10am each day! I just lay in bed, watching anything NOT Noggin and luxuriated. I made myself get up by 10 though since I had lots of catch-up; I think the laundry was reaching the ceiling.
Dr. D was a little tearful those first days going back to school - but that's her new gimmick - the waterworks. It evolved since she's been sick - anytime something doesn't go her way, or if I yell at her for something, she starts crying. Almost fake crying, as she starts wiping her eyes even before the tears come. When I ask her, "honey, what's wrong?" she replies, "I need tissue." Then she wipes her (non-teary) eyes and bounces back. Unless of course, you make the dreaded mistake of making a big deal out of the whole crying thing and asking, "what's wrong?" then you're in for a full-fledged crying spell.
In other news, wedding madness has started. If you remember, I'm the MATRON of honor at my sister's October wedding. I've been scheduled to go wedding gown shopping with her next week, and in the coming weeks I'll be shopping for the obligatory ugly bridesmaid dress. And man oh man, has she picked out some whoppers. I'm trying to be a good sport about the whole thing, and I was hoping that the whole wedding planning thing would bring us closer...but I'm not going to feel closer to her wearing an ugly piece of crap dress. Not to mention that I really need to tone myself down around my sister. You see, the wit and sarcasm that you folks appreciate and keep coming back for? Its kind of lost on her. My sister is the kind of gal who has a pimple on her nose and runs to the dermotologist to screen for melanoma. We have so little in common its scary.
I'm off to enjoy my three-day weekend kids - y'all have a good one!

Michele sent me over to wish you a great weekend, too. I can certainly identify with staying in bed till 10 :)

From one Christine to another (ok I'm really a Chrissie - but I'm legally a Christine)
I can totally relate with most everything you have said....
I wonder if name similarities are the same as birth date similarities! Or... are you an Aries too?
(from Michelles - btw)

Re: Going back to bed = Rock on! I'm sure you deserve it.
The story about your little "sick" actress was hilarious. She'll love reading that someday.

I'm glad you took some downtime for yourself. Everybody needs it once in a while.
Soon, your sister will be her husband's problem :)

Hi. Michele sent me.
If it's any consolation, my wife has managed to recycle some hideous bridesmaid dresses with our girlies. Most recently, youngest child used it to dress up for a presentation in class.
The child got to wear one of mommy's dresses and Mommy didn't have to worry about what happened to her dress!
