Lets Get Caught Up.
* Princess' "virus" was actually roseola. Of course, I had no way of knowing that until her fever broke and she broke out in a rash.
* Thanksgiving was awesome. The highlight of the meal was the stuffing: Grandma Olga's recipe - and believe me, she was smiling down from heaven on this year's batch of sausage-y goodness. The girls were very well behaved, but I never got my Turkey Nap. Oh well.
The girls got to watch the Thanksgiving Day parade this year. They ACTUALLY watched it, and liked it! Dr. D. loved the marching bands and the Sesame St. float. Princess loved the Care Bears float, and they both loved seeing the big balloons.
* We've just started to get in the holiday spirit over here - DH has been studying for a Cisco-certification test (he passed, thank god. He was a miserable prick during his exam cram period) We got a new Christmas tree this year; 7 feet tall, but narrower than our last tree. We've got a terribly small house, so the narrower, the better. The tree is going up tomorrow. I hope to get it decorated ASAP, and then take a picture of it, so that I can remember what it looked like before the kids get to it and demolish it.
* The cute Dr. D. story of the week: She's been a big fan of Oobi lately (and for those who are not Noggin-familiar, here's the deal: Oobi uses bare-handed puppetry, in which the hands themselves are puppets, costumed with the characters' eyes, clothing and hair, and some token props. The thumbs are used to represent mouth movement, and the fingers flutter, clench, and make other movements to indicate emotions. The characters' speech is similar to that of characters in shows such as Teletubbies. Their vocabulary is simple, and they speak in simple sentences. For example, "Uma school first day" is said in place of "It's Uma's first day of school" or "It's my first day of school." ) Below you'll see Oobi on the left, and sister Uma on the right.

It sounds stupid, I know...but its really a very peaceful little show. But I digress. Dr. D. watches an episode where Oobi & Co. were eating birthday cake (so, essentially just hands mashing up cake, get it?). She disappears into the kitchen, where I find her with two hands in the new chocolate cake I'd just brought home. I gasped - one of the few times in my life when I've got no words. She lifts her hands out of the cake, and says, "Yum yum yum..." while mashing the cake in her hands. What could I do? She was only replicating what she'd just seen. I just laughed and brought her over to the sink to wash her hands. Then I put the cake (with two naughty little fist-sized holes) high up out of her reach.
Oh, and Noggin network is going to a 24-hour format in the new year! I'm so psyched!
Of course, now the girls are getting into the Wiggles, who I'm finding more annoying than anything I've seen thus far. The girls love the music, but the show is just lame. Am I right? Can I get an Amen, people?
Hope you're having a great weekend!

That's cute!
I couldn't help but notice the word "fecking" in the post below. I haven't thought about that word since we used to watch Father Ted.
Michele says hello!
