Just Say NO To The Dress...
Spoke to my sister the other day - she's getting married next year, and the bridal drama has already started. I'm the MATRON of honor (meh.), and already there's all kinds of stuff to argue about -- where the bridal shower will be held, how she's not allowing my kids to attend her wedding....I could talk about all this crap all night. But you'd be bored. Instead, I'll just tell you that she sent me a sample picture of a dress she's considering for me, her MATRON of honor.
Its the color of pea soup. PEA SOUP, people.
Now I know that part of being a bridesmaid is to subject yourself to the butt-ugly dress, I just didn't think my sister would do it to me. To be continued folks...
On the illness front, my house is an infirmary. Princess completed ten days of antiobiotics...both girls had a lingering cough...then on Tuesday, Princess came home from school with a 102 degree temp - both girls went to the doctor that afternoon. Now they're both on the nebulizer, and Dr. D. is on the antibiotics now. I swear, there's got to be a better way to nebulize. I have to make my kids sit still for 20 minutes each...that's a long time when your kid is squirming around complaining.
I kept the girls home for two days due to fevers. And for two long days, they drove me fricken nuts. Autumn finally decided to show up too, so it was damp, cold and raining pretty much all week here - not even a chance to throw the girls in the car for a ride. I hate to say it, but I couldn't wait to get them to school on Friday.
In the mornings before they leave for school, I've got to get them dressed (and if you live with Miss Princess, there's at least one fight over the daily wardrobe selection), get them to drink their milk and eat something if you're lucky, pack the lunches, and administer several different kids of medication. All before the school bus comes.
OK, I gotta run. Two sick kids leaves very little time for me, and I hear a glass of red wine calling.

This is why I'm glad we're done with weddings in our family. It's almost like a template for humiliating bridesmaids, matrons of honor and other non-bride members of the wedding party.
You have my sympathies. I wouldn't be able to hold my tongue!
Feel better soon, k?

Hope everyone is on the mend at your place!
