It's not the heat...

Oh, who the hell am I kidding. It IS the heat.
Today was the first day that you could walk out of your house without feeling like all of the breath had gotten sucked out of you. I don't even want to see my ConEd bill this month - fucking bastards that they are. I can't believe the folks in Astoria haven't gone after the CEO of ConEd with torches and pitchforks. I've been availing myself of my pool in the afternoons when the girls are napping, or when they're working with their therapists in the afternoon. I could kick myself for waiting four years before fixing this damn pool up. Yes, its a crappy little 4-foot round above ground job...but there is nothing cooler than floating in my pool, aided solely by my little pool noodle. Ahhhh....

The girls are sick. They went to the doctor on Monday. It seems as though they have Coxsackie, otherwise known as hand-foot-mouth disease. They've both broken out in little pimples; and the doc says it could be HFMD, or...maybe just some other lovely type of virus. I knew something was up: their appetite has been pretty sucky, Miss Princess S. has been clingy as all hell - she cries her eyes out when I leave the room for any reason, and there have been some low-grade fevers. The blister-pimple type things apparently signal the end of the illness; and it seems like they bother me more than they bother them. They're friggen unsightly. And there's nothing I can do about them - just let the virus run its course. The girls were pretty darned good at the doctor's office however. The waiting room was PACKED - hate when that happens.

In scrapbooking news; I'm so pissed off today. I participated in an online vendor fair this week. For the uninitiated, these types of vendor fairs take place in a chat room environment; you get a block of time to do your song and dance, and you hopefully get some business out of it. Thursday afternoon I had my block of time. One of the moderators in the room was also a vendor in the fair, and reps for the same company that I do. Toward the end, I was doing a little Q&A, and gave out a prize to whomever answered the most questions correct. This woman answered all the questions right -- of COURSE she did! Am I wrong, or is this a breech of some unwritten etiquette? And she ACTUALLY expects me to send her the prize! WTF!! Is it me, or is it her -- its her, right? That's just something I would never friggen do. People suck sometimes.

Here's this week's Friday Fiver:

1. When is the last time your phone rang in the middle of the night? - Jeez. I have no idea. Its been that long. Probably the last time DH slept at his brother's house -- maybe Super Bowl?
2. Who makes you yell? - My daughters
3. What do you do for fun? - Scrapbook.
4. What hours do you work/go to school? - I work. ALL THE TIME. 24/7.
5. Who is number one in your life? - My daughters.

    It's her--definately.

Sorry about the virus, but at least it is on it's way out.

Have a good weekend (maybe a cold spell will come!)

    Michele sent me!

Definitely her. In sports terms, she's known as a ringer. It makes for unfair competition, and people can ritfully hate her until the end of time.

I hope your munchkins feel better soon. Ours have been through this before. Much whining ensued. You'll need all the pool time you can get.

LOL... maybe next time you should add a disclaimer so that moderators/vendors aren't eligible for the prize.

It is super hot but I figure I can't complain as long as I have the help of my friend AC to get me through the day. That's air conditioning btw, not Atlantic City. Just to clarify.

Glad you decided to stop by!:)
