Just Another Week In Paradise...

No. really.

Looks like the girls finally have speech therapists - two, in fact. Its going to make our weeks that much more busy, but it's only going to help the girls. They are doing so well with the ABA therapy; this week, the girls did some fingerpainting and artwork with 'bingo markers' -- I love having their little artwork cluttering up my refrigerator. Can't wait to scan their masterpieces so that I can incorporate them on a scrapbook page!

Speaking of scrapbooking, I had a customer place a $400+ order on my website this week - ever see someone do the happy dance? Yeah, that was me just the other day. And I just signed my 4th team member, which makes me a manager - the empire grows!

This week, the weather got unbearably hot - its too damn soon for it to be this hot. DH and I were forced to go up to the attic and get our air conditioners; I don't even want to see our electric bill this month. Thankfully though, we opened our pool this past weekend. The same pool that has sat dormant for the last three years that we've been living in this house. My father was instrumental in helping me get the pool up and running. The liner was replaced, we bought all the chemicals; my dad has been busting his ass to get us online, but its all been worth it. One afternoon this week, while the girls were with their therapists, I threw on my bathing suit, my big sun-hat (we girls of Irish decent are entitled to wear the big, dumb looking hats; that's why I look 30 instead of my actual 36. harrumph.) and sat my caboose in a big inner tube and just ....floated. It was absolute...paradise.

I even got the girls in the pool this week, and they dug it - last year, they were a bit tentative about the pool. This year, they were perched in their little floaty boats, loving it as I pushed them along. Love that.

The only downside to this whole pool thing is that with the lawn looking lush, and the pool looking azure and perfect, DH will be planning some BBQs. Time to enforce my "no peeing in the pool" rule with the nieces and nephews.

I'm off to bed - its been a busy week, I'm PMS-ing and I'm exhausted! I'm going with a new meme this week - here's the Friday Five:

1) Favourite movie of the 1980s? - Anything John Hughes. Or Ferris Bueller.
2) Favourite musician/group of the 1980s?- DURAN DURAN or U2
3) Favourite TV show of the 1980s? - Friday Night Videos!
4) Favourite invention of the 1980s? - compact discs - my parents gave me a CD player for my high school graduation. One of my first CD's was U2's "Joshua Tree"
5) World Event from the 1980s that stands out in your mind? -John Lennon's death.

Michele sent me to see you, Christine.

Congrats on the $400 order. That's gong to help some.

It's been hot here too. I have this thing about using the A/C before June so I've been soooo hot--but I turned on the A/C yesterday and I feel a lot better. Too bad about the increased bills but it's worth it! I sure wish I had a pool like y'all do. That must be really nice, Christine! Maybe you'll send me an invite for one of those BBQs?

Oh, man! One post a week for the past 4 weeks, Christine? You're making this tough to find new comments for me to make. ;-)

Actually I NEVER have trouble finding stuff to BS about. Let's see--we'll go back a few weeks and tackle Rachel Ray (actually a recurring daydream of mine is, in fact, tackling Rachel). She's got such a cute face and nice hair that I forgive her those baby fat ****** that she has. [I censored that sentence a bit] I really do think she's cute as a button but you have a definite point, Christine. Rachel Ray is seriously overexposed--and not in the way that I wish she was. *blush*

They need to dial back her shows and appearances quite a bit. 30 Minute Meals is fine, but those On $40 a Day shows are over the line not to mention the holiday specials and all those short lived programs that they launch with her. Celebrity Meals? Places I like to eat?

Too mcuh Rachel Ray can be a bad thing. Now back to your regular programming, Christine.
