Diary of a Mad SAHM

Don't ask me - I just vent here.

Well, I should have known this was coming.

Dr. D dropped the F-bomb.

First of all, sorry I was away last week, it was just to crazy to blog.

I've begun the process of touring preschools - I'm so stressed out about this. I think what I'm looking for is a feeling, a vibe I get when I get to the school that says, "I HAVE TO SEND MY KIDS HERE". So far, I haven't found it.

The girls' speech is really starting to come in. Dr. D has been like a little parrot - she mimics everything, but she's also using speech in a more purposeful way. In the last several days we've gotten: french fries, cookies, chips, hot dog (we're not too food obsessed at my house), notebook...she's a big "Dora" gal, so she likes to say "Yum Yum Yum...delicioso!' just like Backpack...and today she was working with our OT and did not want to be bothered. The OT got right in D's face, trying to engage her, and D. pushed her face away and said "F--- You". The OT didn't comment, so I'm not sure if she caught it or if she just chose to ignore it. But I swear that's what she said.

Winter has finally arrived in our neck of the woods. It was 10 degrees F when I woke up this morning. YIKES. Tomorrow we're trucking out to Long Island for a birthday party, and it will be a balmy 40 degrees...good thing I didn't put away my shorts.

OK, I'm off to do some scrapbooking. Here's the Friday Fiver:

1. How did you feel yesterday? - Tired
2. What kind of obstacles do you face? - Let me be cheesy here and say there are no obstacles, just opportunities
3. Who is a good friend? - Danielle
4. What is your fondest memory? - Christmas with my family
5. Does time always kill pain? It dulls it, that's for sure.

It sounds to me like you have your hands full! But ain't this phase of your life grand? Kids are a hoot.

A balmy 40 degrees....I'll tell you what. I've lived down here in the South enough years (more than 20) that 40 degrees just flat out hurts my feelings. Give my the Spring and Summer!

Oh goodness...I'd die if one of my kids said that. My 4-year old called my brother-in-law a b***h once (she didn't use it in context, so I'm pretty sure she doesn't know what it means). I don't even know where she learned it...I almost fainted when I heard that...lol!
Here from Michele's. I'll come back again, though, and visit again! :)

Ooh, language like that hurts. At any age, come to think of it.

It's viciously cold here, too. By the time I get to work (it's about a 45-minute walk) my face is frozen. I can't wait till spring thaw.
