*Burp*
Well, the turkey has been consumed, the tryptophan nap taken...now begins the slippery slope toward the end of the year.
This Thanksgiving at my aunt's house was much better. Last year, the girls cried practically the entire time. They were much better behaved this year -- yes, they're a year older, but I also attribute it to their endless hours of therapy really paying off.
DH wants to put the Xmas tree up this weekend, but I so cannot be bothered. I'm too scroogy for words. I used to love Christmas, and now the hassle of it all has really made it a downer for me. I could care less if we put the damn tree up. The way i see it, the girls are still too young to know what the heck is going on, so why put myself through so much stress spending the next month keeping them away from the tree??
Yeah. I know. I'm a grinch. Maybe as the girls get older, and I'm able to see the excitement and wonder in their eyes, I'll get my Christmas groove back. Here's hoping.
For those of you who celebrated Thanksgiving this past Thursday, hope you had a great day filled with family, friends and great food.
Here's this week's Friday Five
1. What are you most thankful for? - My family, my friends, and my kids
2. Think back one year, have the things you are thankful for changed? - No.
3. What did you feast on yesterday? - turkey, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, peas, cranberry sauce, and mom's sausage stuffing - delish!
4. This time of year is filled with parties, gifts, friends, and family, what are you looking forward to the most? - for all of it to be blessedly OVER.
5. Christmas is coming up, what if anything do you want for it? - I'd love a Canon digital rebel. Other than that, I want for nothing.

I know what you mean about the decorations. Some of the stores in our area started putting out christmas stuff before Halloween! By the time December gets here I find I am already tired of seeing the stuff.

Here from Michele's...I haven't been in the mood either. My cousin took the initiative to begin the decorating process and it has helped push me into the season...

I'll put my vote in for the Canon, too. I just broke the bank on a Nikon D80, and it was the best money I've spent in a very long time.
You're no grinch: you're just realistic, and a good Mom. I hear your frustration.
