Where did my week go?
Man. It's been one hell of a week. I'd finally decided to stop driving myself crazy and listen to my gut. The girls were teething. Three or four days of nasty poops, drooling, bitchiness, and fevers. Then D. (aka "Dr. D" -- that's her new nickname because she has to inspect EVERYTHING she lays her hands on) started with a runny nose and constant sneezing. I swear, this girl has seasonal allergies. A little Pediacare and a humidifier solved that problem. Allow me to pat myself on the back - you can really drive yourself crazy listening to everyone else's opinions. Once I remembered, "hey, I'm the mom here. I know what's best for my kids"...things improved.
And on top of everything else, I had PMS, so my nerves have been ready to snap all week. Ever since I had the babies, the PMS has been UNREAL. I feel like I'm ready to throw the kids out the window, scream, gnash my teeth, and run away, all at the same time. And when it happens, I'm too "in the moment" to realize what's going on. The other day, I stood on the back porch, hanging laundry, desperately wanting a cigarette (and I don't smoke), and I said to myself, "Why the fuck am I feeling this way?"...then I realized and I was like, "DUH...of course!"
We went to the neurologist this week. There's still more to be done, but at first blush she feels that this is all just a case of delayed maturation. However, she's ordering blood tests for the girls along with a possible EEG for S. I'm vehmently against this, as they need to put her to sleep for it. I won't have my daughter subjected to anymore unnecessary tests. I'm going to wait for the blood test results to come in. The neurologist also expressed concern over S.'s head circumference - she has a big head -- but her HC has grown in proportion to her height and weight all along. The Dr. commented, "well, large heads can be hereditary..." then she measured MY head. She looked at the tape measure and said, "You see? You have a big head." I wanted to tell her, "oh yea? You have a big mouth, you dried up old coot." I swear, I've become quite the cavewoman since becoming a SAHM.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend - Here's this week's Friday Fiver:
1. What is the most important thing you've ever lost? - My mind.
2. When is the last time you lost your keys?- Last week. I've developed a bad habit of not putting them back in my purse.
3. Have you ever felt like you've lost your mind? - Every single day. See #1.
4. Are you likely to ask for directions when lost or to continue to wander? - I rarely ask for directions. But I have a good sense of direction and manage to figure it out.
5. Numerology: reliable or just a load of bunk? - total bunk

Hi, Michele sent me. It sounds like one of those tough weeks... are your girls twins? hope next week is better for all of you. Ok, I'll try this too:
1. What is the most important thing you've ever lost? well, I haven't really lost anything important... I have erased important things from my computer/computer at work, though...
2. When is the last time you lost your keys? I keep losing them but I always find them!
3. Have you ever felt like you've lost your mind? I have a teenager, what do you think?
4. Are you likely to ask for directions when lost or to continue to wander? I try to have a map with me or else I ask for directions.
5. Numerology: reliable or just a load of bunk? Good question!

Sounds like a busy week, and that head comment would have sent me over the edge of nice, and onto the ledge of rude. I've switched peds twice because of stupid commnents they've made.

1. What is the most important thing you've ever lost? My pencils, because I had nothing left to take a test with, so I use crayola.
2. When is the last time you lost your keys? Now, but I think I know what happened to them. my hamster Duckie hid them from me because I know since je is smiling.
3. Have you ever felt like you've lost your mind? No, it never fell outa my head.
4. Are you likely to ask for directions when lost or to continue to wander? I think if I asked rabbits for directions in the woods, they probably give me the beaver face.
5. Numerology: reliable or just a load of bunk? Huh?

welcome to the PMS really blows after childbirth hate club.... I'm not just the president... I'm also a member!
fiver fever... I'll play along:
1. What is the most important thing you've ever lost? - My virginity.
2. When is the last time you lost your keys?- which set? the real ones, or the ones I have in case I can't find the real onespretty much every other time I drive? oh... I guess that kinda answers that.
3. Have you ever felt like you've lost your mind? - yes.... too may times.
4. Are you likely to ask for directions when lost or to continue to wander? - assuming I actually go somewhere other than playgroup? I'll drive around.
5. Numerology: reliable or just a load of bunk? - isn't that what's on the last pages of some magazines, or are we talking about a new section of Math?

Ain't parenthood grand? I hope that as the weekend progresses, the munchkins are getting better.
And as far as all the testing is concerned, you're their Mom, and your gut rules. You'll always know what's best for them.
Dropped in from Michele's tonight.
