Red Alert! Red Alert!

The girls are sick. Who knows what caused it? Hanging around their cousins last week, or maybe the parade of therapists that are in and out of my house. Nonetheless, yesterday both girls had diarrhea and fever. D's temp went up to 102.2. So now they're on the BRAT diet - and off dairy - D. absolutely refuses to have anything to do with soymilk, while S. drank it down like nothing.

Last night found me wiping all of their toys down with alcohol. Silly me, I'd forgotten, winter is coming - time to be a germophobe again. The therapists are going to be greeted with a big bottle of Purell from now on.

I'm so scarred. Ever since S. went into the hospital last March, as soon as a fever hits, I go into alert mode.

Oh, and the "nightmare" that D. had the other night turned out to be night terrors. How do I know this? Because it happened to S. on Saturday night. Apparently, whenever they're tired or overstimulated (or both) this may happen. They're crying hysterically, their eyes are open, but they're still sleeping. On Saturday night, my only recourse was to put S. in her swing and put on a "Sesame Street" tape until she quieted down, then repeat the nighttime routine -- bottle and bed. Very disconcerting.

My wedding anniversary with DH was this week - we're married three years. And we never had a fight - BWAH HA HA HAAA!

I don't think I'd ever shared this story with you, so I'll share it now (and apologies to those who've already heard it):

DH and I met in late '99. We worked at the same firm, and we'd been "set up " on a lunch date by a mutual friend. We started exclusively dating in Feb. of 2000. Two months later, I was at his mom's house, and I'd brought along some pics of me as a baby - as a goof. I had a picture of me as a flower girl in my godmother's wedding (I was about 4 at the time). His mother recognized my godmother and her husband -- apparently, they used to be friends of hers but had lost touch over the years. She says, "Linda and Tommy used to come to my house all the time - in fact, they brought their niece to (my DH's) 3rd birthday party"...we both looked at each other and I said, "um...do you have any pictures??" DH's mom starts digging through her photo albums. Next thing I know, I'm holding a picture of me and my DH dancing at his birthday party -- I'm 4 years old, and he's 3 years old.27 years later, we met again - and got married!

All together now - AWWWWwwww..

He's no dummy - he came home with a pound of Godiva.

Here's the Friday Feast - DH and I are going out for a SICK, HUGE dinner tomorrow night. Can't wait. Am fasting as we speak.

What a cute story! I bet not too many people can say they danced with their spouse at the age of 3-4! I dated a guy in high school, and once we were talking and I realized that he was the boy who had followed me home from school when I was 6 and he was 8 and he tried to pull a "you show me yours and I'll show you mine" routine. HA! I was too msart for him. I said "you go first", and when he did, I ran off home without showing anything!

Michele sent me! Also, thanks for the link to the "food" site.

Hmm..so many places I'd love to go. But, since you're talking winter and I live somewhere that doesn't really HAVE a winter, I'll pick Colorado. I miss skiing.

That's a great story. And to think, it could have ended horribly, like you were distant cousins or something like that.:)
