When Tuesday is Monday...
Dammit all to hell, I hate losing a day due to holidays.
This weekend was surprisingly good. The babies' party went really well - I just loved being able to go home, open presents, and not worry about cleaning anything up. They looked so pretty in their little dresses - and were well behaved for the most part. We had a big life-size Elmo come in to visit -- and while D. was loving it, hanging around in a big Elmo hug, S. had this look on her face that said, "I'm just doing this because you all want me to". We took the girls to the park yesterday for the first time and they loved it. S. loved the swings, and D. loved the monkey bars and the baby slide -- typical. They got so many cute outfits for their birthday I feel that I'm going to have to take them out every day just to show off their new clothes!
Speaking of clothes, I have a wedding at the end of June, and found a dress for $8. Well, $8.50, but who's counting? I was so pleased with myself! DH told me not to spend over $100, and I went home telling him that I spent less than $10, so that means I can afford a nice pair of shoes!
Woke up with a headache from hell today. Started to introduce the girls to cow's milk -- we have a pediatrician appointment this week -- another opportunity to dress them in cute outfits!
One last thing:
An open letter to those in charge of Noggin channel programming -
Sirs:
While I certainly appreciate the fact that you like to keep the schedule fresh and fluid, please try to keep in mind those of us who know what time it is simply by what show is on Noggin. It was a cruel trick putting Maisy on at 11:30 when she used to be on at 1:30pm, and I thought I'd somehow lost two hours of my day. I mean, do y'all sit in a big conference room and try to come up with fun ways to fuck with moms? Jeez.
Let me also say that my kids would appreciate the last show of your programming day be something a little more upbeat - they loved "Play With Me Sesame" at 5:30pm...now you've moved "Little Bear" into that slot. That's the time I'm trying to get my kids to eat dinner, and it was much easier doing it to Sesame; Little Bear even puts ME to sleep.
Finally, could you please remove Dan Zanes from all of your music segments? He gives me the creeps, and he's annoying to boot.
