I need a vacation!
Last night, after I put the girls to bed, I was burning the midnight oil - I was actually being very productive and getting lots of shit done, when suddenly...
The lights went out.
I looked outside and found the entire street was in darkness. I called Con Edison, and got some doofus who told me that they were aware of it and were dispatching someone.
Well. That's great. I'm bathed in relief.
For this I pay over $200 a month? You've gotta be fucking kidding. So I managed to get a few things done by candlelight (thank God for those big honkin' Yankee Candles)...I revamped my contact flyers with new business cards...it was all very pioneer, except for DH who was watching "Kill Bill" on his laptop. The lights stayed out for about an hour. Absolutely ridiculous.
I'm so mentally exhausted these days. You know what lulls me to sleep at night? Images of seaside resorts -- the kind you see on VH1's "Fabulous Life" -- where you've got a completely open room - no windows, no doors, just a big opening where you can see and hear the ocean 24/7? What I wouldn't give for an all expenses paid luxury seaside vacation.
But alas, I'm nearing the wrong side of 35, and am too damn broken down at this point to find me a rich Sugar Daddy. But you get my point.
The babies are starting to teethe again, just biting and gnawing on anything that's not nailed down. As they near their 1-year birthday, I'm starting to add some table food, but that's still not going over well. I swear, my kids are the laziest kids on the planet! Anything that requires chewing is not on the menu. They hold it in their mouth, like - "what the fuck am I supposed to do with this?" Lazy, just like their daddy.
In other news - I know I promised not to do this but - my scrapbook gathering this past weekend went really well (Thanks Danielle!!), and I have another party scheduled on May 15. Which, for those of you with good memories, will remember is the one year anniversary of my baby shower. Maybe that will bring me some good luck and great sales!
